A few years ago, I created this free printable seder plate craft and it was really popular. When I have a craft that goes over well, I like to expand on it, and so I’ve really been anxious to design more templates.
I decided to switch things up a bit and simplify the craft by turning these seder plate templates into a flat craft. You simply color your design, cut out the holes, and glue cups in place.
The craft includes a few different styles to choose from so that you can really make it your own. I created a template for the base as well – although you can really just trace the outline of the main page. The truth is, I just traced mine from plain colored cardstock, but you can totally have fun with it by using decorative scrapbook paper, painting the base, or otherwise making it pretty.
You can also use one of two decorative bases that I provided. Those are designed so that the little picture is visible on the bottom of the cup, through the transparent plastic. Don’t bother with it if you’re using something opaque.
To assemble my seder plate templates, I used 2oz shot glasses with two inch rims. If you find something slightly wider, it’ll still work. If it’s smaller, you’ll need to print it to scale.
I think you can take these seder plate templates so much further with decorations: glue on ricrac or fringe, add pretend food to the cups – the possibilities are endless.
And if you’re looking for something different and more playable, you can also try this felt seder plate template and cut file.

How to craft your paper seder plate templates
You need
- A top template – printed on cardstock
- A bottom template (see instructions)
- Markers, crayons, gel pens, glitter glue, or any other art supplies you’ll enjoy
- Scissors
- Glue (see instructions)
- Shot glasses: the template is designed with a 2 inch hole that JUST fits the 2 oz plastic shot glasses that I used. Make sure to find something that fits, or print to scale.
Instructions
Print the top on white cardstock
Blank bottom: Print the bottom on colored cardstock OR print on white cardstock and trace and cut out from any stiff paper. (You can also just cut out the outline of the seder plate – I made a template separately in case you want it)
Decorative bottom: You can have a decorative bottom with designs that just barely peek through the glasses. Print that on white cardstock to color and craft.
Color your seder plate template.
Cut it out, and cut all the circles.
Flip it upside down. Glue a shot glass so that the opening matches up to to each hole. I used hot glue and it worked very well. If you’re having kids do this, they can try Tacky glue. It likely won’t stick permanently, but it’ll hold enough to be a fun project for kids.
Place glue on the bottom of each shot glass, and center your base on top of that (if using a designed base, make sure the pictures match up to the glasses. You can also wait until the first layer dries, place the glue ON the graphics, and then glue the bottoms of the cups on top)
Enjoy your fun paper seder plate!
